Arlington’s 100 Homes Campaign was recently featured in a Springfield Connection article entitled, “County Combats Chronic Homelessness”, as a successful model for Fairfax County, which recently joined the nation-wide 100,000 Homes Campaign to End Homelessness and will be conducting their Registry Week sometime next year. Seven months into the 100 Homes Arlington Campaign, 27 vulnerable homeless persons have been successfully placed in permanent housing. 100 Homes volunteers have been awarded a Special Recognition Award by the Department of Human Services (DHS) for service to the community in 2011. The award cites the volunteers’ efforts during 100 Homes Registry Week.
