What is 100 Homes?
Arlington’s 100 Homes Campaign is part of the national 100,000 Homes effort to move the most vulnerable homeless people in Arlington off the streets and into housing. The goal is to reduce chronic homelessness in Arlington by 50% by July 2013.
Registry Week
The most exciting part of 100 Homes will be Registry Week, October 16-21, 2011. Throughout this week, volunteers will spread across the County in teams to identify every homeless person in Arlington. The teams will use a survey to collect information that goes into a “Vulnerability Index” and identifies those most likely to die on the street if not housed soon. People are then moved into permanent housing and will receive supportive services, with those who score higher on the Vulnerability Index taking priority.
